This is the last reissue of Meister / Jazz so far released in Takara Tomy's Encore line. Although not perfect this is the best reissue so far. This release uses the mould from the 2004 Stepper reissue correcting the alighnment in vehicle mode as well as the improved head sculpt although it keeps the narrow feet mould used for the 1992 Generation 2 Jazz onward.

Improved head sculpt

It does however use the missile launcher mould from Hasbro's 2002 reissue of Jazz; when attached in robot mode there are clearance issues with the launcher and the robot head; not to mention attaching it to the robots back can be a bit tricky. This is however only a minor complaint.

The Martinii logo is still absent being replaced by his Japanese name "Meister" and the majority of the stickers have been replaced with tampographs. The blue colouring appears lighter and the robots visor has also been painted blue like the G1 cartoon version. Interestingly the bio card has slightly been amended for this release naming his weapons as a Laser Rifle (instead of Photon Rifle) and Freezon Cannon (previously known just as a Missile Launcher). Whether it is intentional or not, Freezon was the name of the energy source in the Diaclone story.

Alignment issues in vehicle mode have now been rectified

If you are after a decent representation of the original Jazz, this reissue is the one to pick up, unless you can get hold of the original of course.
